Voice Over Internet Protocol -Sipsrus

Get A Good Internet Connection, for a better voice quality!!!
Through VoIP, your voice will be passing on over IP - the Internet Protocol. For that reason you need a
Sip Trunking
good Internet connection, with Suitable bandwidth.
Bandwidth is actually a series of frequencies through which data is transmitted. The same methodology is used in radio, TV and data transmission. A large bandwidth ‘range’ means that more data are transferred at one point in time, at greater speed. Precisely, bandwidth is not connection speed, though they are used interchangeably by most Internet users. I will do so as well, to put you at ease.

Bandwidth is one of the most significant factors affecting voice quality. It is important to have an idea of how much bandwidth you have, both for uploading and downloading, to be able to correctly evaluate your ability to benefit from VoIP. And you can do it, with various speed tests, also known as bandwidth meters.

How can you Measure your Bandwidth?
Bandwidth can be measured in Hertz (Hz), or Megahertz (MHz) as Hertz are calculated in millions. One MHz is one million Hz,and your connection speed (technically called the bit rate) can be measured in Kilo-bits per second (kbps). You can simply measure it, how many bits are transmitted in one second.
I am going to use kbps or Mbps to refer to transmission speed from now on, because that’s what every service provider talks about when referring to the speed they offer. One Mbps is one thousand kbps.
Or you can get an idea how good or bad your connection speed is and whether it is appropriate for VoIP by performing online connection tests. Read more on connection tests here.
Broadband is limitless connection 24 hours a day at a speed much higher than that of dial-up connection.
Speed Use in VoIP:
Dial-Up (modem) Up to 56 kbps: Not Appropriate
ISDN Up to 128 kbps: appropriate
